Established in 1890, VitraTech is one of Australia’s oldest manufacturing companies still in operation today. Located in Geelong, Victoria, VitraTech is a wholly family-owned company employing approximately 20 staff. VitraTech has over 130 years’ experience supplying Vitreous Enamelled products throughout Australia and around the world.

Timeline

1890

The Victorian Foundry and Enamelling Works (Victoria Enamelling) was founded by Francis Newberry and was originally located in Geelong West. The Newberry family operated the business until late 1970’s

1978

The Victorian Foundry and Enamelling Works moved to its present Moolap facility with new owners and begins operation as Glassmetal Industries Pty. Ltd.

1988

Purchased first continuous furnace from Dolsonware. Supplied Air Pre-heater panels to the SEC for the Hazelwood Power Station

1996

Purchased updated continuous furnace from Modern Made (Metters) greatly increasing capacity and output.

2023

Glassmetal Industries becomes VitraTech Pty. Ltd. with proprietary lines VitraSign® and VitraGuard®
